Jesus prayed in John 17:3 that we would know Him and the Father. Knowing God and being in a relationship with Him through Jesus really is the greatest prize of following Jesus–in fact, the Bible calls this eternal life. In this series Delighting in the Lord we will look at what it means to delight in and enjoy God in his word, in his character, in creation, and in the salvation offered to us in Christ. We invite you to grow with us as we become believers that not only know about God and the things of God, but are in a relationship with Christ in which we take great delight.

Come to Jesus

I love what Peter says in Acts 3:19-20 in the midst of his sermon. He encourages the crowd to repent of their sins, and turn to God so that their sins may be wiped away, and then he says that we should eagerly do this so that times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord. What a great promise as we come to Jesus for help in our sins. Maybe your sin has gotten the best of you this week. Peter’s words invite us not to run from Jesus when we sin, but rather to run to Jesus and be forgiven as we repent and so we can then enjoy the presence of the Lord. He wants us to be with him and has made a way in Jesus.

The book of Acts is the continuing story by Luke of what Jesus has done and is now doing from heaven by his Spirit in the lives of his followers to advance the Kingdom of God on the earth through the Gospel. Join us as we hear and look to live out Jesus’ invitation in Acts 1:8, to everyone that would claim the name of Christ, to be Spirit empowered witnesses to the ends of the earth.
