Spiritual renewal is at the heart of Zechariah. In Zechariah 1:3 God’s people are invited to return to a relationship with him through repentance. After many years in exile God is going to show Israel mercy and compassion, redeem them out of their situation, and dwell with and bless the people again. Of course, this will ultimately come through the Messiah, Israel’s righteous king that will bring salvation to Israel and the world through the blood of his covenant. In the midst of defeat, God is bringing new encouragement and hope of a better future through God’s son. Zechariah 8:12 calls the people ‘prisoners of hope’–meaning though they still face the difficulties of the situations they find themselves in, they have a new undeniable hope in the God that he will restore all things and dwell with his people again. We invite you to come and join us as we learn from Zechariah what it means to hope in the Gospel.

Proverbs 4 - Hear the Father's Instruction

This week we will consider Proverbs 4 together in our series Walking in Wisdom. In this chapter Solomon will make three important appeals to us: 1) to receive wisdom, 2) to walk on the path of righteousness, and 3) to embrace wisdom with our whole being. Solomon’s word to us is that if we will take these steps and embrace Godly wisdom, our life will go really well. The path to wisdom starts by making Jesus Lord of our life. Life going well doesn’t mean that we won’t face adversity, but we will face it with God on our side and will have the tools to walk in a way that honors the Lord. For the Christian, as Solomon says, life only gets brighter and brighter as they walk in Godly wisdom. Come consider walking in Godly wisdom in Christ with us this Sunday.

We need Godly wisdom with which to meet the demands of our lives. This summer will be Walking in Wisdom in Proverbs 1-9, & 31 letting God teach us what practical, Godly living looks like for the Christian. Proverbs 1:7 tells us the starting point of wisdom is the fear of the Lord. We invite you to take this journey with us as we learn what wisdom looks like, sounds like, and the good effect wisdom can have on our lives in Jesus.
