Proverbs 8 - Wisdom and Jesus

This is a really great chapter in Proverbs and in the whole Bible that makes Jesus shine. After three weeks of hearing warning and instruction on how to avoid lady folly, lady wisdom comes back in a very triumphant way and invites us to live in a better way in Jesus. Her invitation is to gain wisdom and find the blessing and favor of God as we place our faith in Christ. In chapter 8 wisdom lists out her virtues and then shows us why she is most qualified to teach us a better way of living in Jesus. The NT writers pick up what Solomon says in chapter 8 and then show us how Jesus is the fulfilment of what lady wisdom has pictured for us. What a great chapter.

Have you ever asked yourself, “What should I do now?” As humans we often wrestle with the things that come into our life and how we should respond to them. We need Godly wisdom with which to meet the demands of our lives. This summer will be Walking in Wisdom in Proverbs 1-9, & 31 letting God teach us what practical, Godly living looks like for the Christian. Proverbs 1:7 tells us the starting point of wisdom is the fear of the Lord. We invite you to take this journey with us as we learn what wisdom looks like, sounds like, and the good effect wisdom can have on our lives in Jesus.
