Acts 15:36-16:5 – Barnabas and Paul Separate

This week we will consider one of the most honest passages in the Bible in Acts 15:36-16:5. The first part of our text will deal with the separation of Paul and Barnabas after a sharp disagreement. I am glad this text is in the Bible as it highlights how our sin can separate us, but also how God’s grace can redeem and bring us together. We all have broken interpersonal relationships in the church, in our families, and elsewhere. This text reminds us of that reality, but also of what God can do in the midst of his people to redeem and advance his purposes. Take a few moments to read these verses and consider the broken relationships in your life. What might it look like for God to redeem those relationships? Where is he asking you to trust him to begin to walk the road of redemption with him?
